"The Leach Report" Radio Show Highlights: Monday, July 18, 2011
Today, Tom was joined by ESPN bracketologist, Joe Lunardi. We also heard an interview with former UK football star, Micah Johnson.
Tom reminded Lunardi of his former projection of UK being a number one seed in the 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. "I sure don't think that UK fans have to worry about being on the bubble," Lunardi joked.
Last year's match-up between #4-UK and #1-Ohio State in the Sweet Sixteen was also brought into conversation. "It's important to realize that placement in the bracket...rarely follows the perfect ranking of the teams," Lunardi explained. He elaborated on how regional preference can affect how teams are selected.
Finally, we heard about Micah Johnson's future in football and his opinion on the upcoming UK football season. He recently signed a 2-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Johnson was asked about what he thought of UK switching to a 3-4 defense. "I think it will be good," Johnson said. He thinks it will help the UK athletes prepare for the NFL.
