TL: no slack for coach Cal

If anybody in the Big Blue nation thought John Calipari might get cut a little slack nationally because the test-tampering that cost Memphis its recorded spot in the 2008 Final Four actually took place in Detroit before Derrick Rose ever got to college, guess again.  If Cal were still at Memphis, I think he'd get a little more sympathy.  And that's not some kind of Wildcat paranoia.  I think Urban Meyer gets more heat for any transgressions at Florida than he would taken at Utah.  That still doesn't make the inconsistency any more palatable.
It's perfectly plausible that any coach would not know about this kind of test irregularity but Calipari has a big ol' target on his back today and almost every national pundit is taking his or her best shot.  He should probably get used to it.
I'm taking a couple of days off but just wanted to touch base on this topic.  Looking forward to getting back home for the football scrimmage on Saturday before a long week of book signings that start on Sunday at the Kentucky State Fair, booth 282 (Logo Express).  Stop by and say 'hi' in between the corn dogs and the ferris wheel.

If the NCAA cleared Rose them the buck stops with them, however UK is a school that some people love to hate and this stuff make for selling newspapers but is not half as serious as the Pitino thing at Louisville,
