Tom's Take: Brooks gets a '10'

"This wasn't pretty but it looked like Bo Derek to me in that fourth quarter. It was a '10' to me." Rich Brooks gets credit for perhaps the line of the year in our postgame radio interview on the Big Blue Sports Network. You can debate where the win at Georgia last night ranks on the list of Brooks' biggest achievements at UK (check out the Tom's Topic poll on the home page) but to me, this win is a tribute to what is perhaps the single biggest achievement for Brooks and his staff--changing the fourth-quarter mindset of the Kentucky players. It used to be that everyone associated with the Cats feared the fourth--even if UK was ahead. Now, going into the fourth quarter trailing means Kentucky has the opponent just where it wants it. The Kentucky players have bought into Brooks' message that they control their own destiny, not some mythical curse.
By the way, one of the first voice messages Rich Brooks had on his phone after the game came from coach John Calipari.
