Tom's Take: moving on to postseason

Just a few quick thoughts on Kentucky's 74-66 Senior Day win over Florida...
*John Wall's ability to seize control of games at key moments is not only his best argument for Player of the Year but it may also be Kentucky's best asset as a national title contender. I don't see any other guys doing that as regularly as he does. Sometimes it's subtle, like this game, where he scored two consecutive baskets when Florida was on the verge of taking its first lead of the day
*Patrick Patterson is also becoming more assertive at crunch time over the last few weeks
and his ability to switch on defense and guard perimeters players is arguably this team's most under-appreciated strength
*if this team can ever defend for somewhere close to a full 40 minutes, they may be untouchable. We saw it in the first 10 or so minutes against Florida. Then, in the second half, after UF had hit 10 of its first 17 shots, UK cranked up the D and the Gators missed five of their next seven and the rally had been quashed
*it's a welcome sight to see Bledsoe, Miller and Dodson hitting shots again. I thought Bledsoe was particularly impressive in this game because he didn't let his defensive obligation of locking down Erving Walker impact his game at the offensive end.

Personally I see Kentucky's defence as good. But not great at the monute. They have a lot of growing up to do pesey. They are still giving up way to many pick and roll baskets, and they are still leaving a few baskets off the boards especially under the blocks..This killed them at tennessee this year. Some times they have it, and others they lose focus because they are young, and don't know how to control the game *Mentle wise* Far too many are letting simple things get under their skins etc.. This is march..How will they respind i think will be the key to if they are t make it to april:) GO BIG BLUE...
