Tom's Take: SEC got it right

Kudos to the folks at the SEC office for tweaking the UK men's basketball schedule, so that the Wildcats will finish against Tennessee instead of Florida. The Gators had been UK's final regular season opponent in every season since 2000 but the Vols occupy that slot this coming winter. It's clear that for now, UT has supplanted Florida as the main rival to the Cats in the SEC and that's a good marketing move for the league to put the UK-UT game as the finale to the regular season, in case the Eastern Division title is on the line. LSU occupied that spot on the schedule for most of the 80's when Dale Brown's program was at its zenith and it was the Vols in the late 60's and early 70's when Ray Mears was Adolph Rupp's main adversary--a role Bruce Pearl clearly claims right now. Not surprisingly, the March 6 matchup in Knoxville is slated for a CBS telecast.
